Kambo

What is Kambo?

Kambo comes from the upper Amazon, where indigenous tribes have long used it as a physical and energetic cleansing practice. Made from the secretion of the Giant Monkey Tree Frog (Phyllomedusa bicolor), Kambo is traditionally used to clear Panema, a term describing heaviness, low energy, or blocked flow, and help the body reset. Our Kambo is gathered with care and intention in remote regions of the Amazon. We work only with frogs that have not been previously harvested, allowing each animal to be released immediately and return safely to its natural environment. This approach supports sustainability and respects the frog’s natural life cycle.

We do not participate in farming or commodifying the frogs. Instead, harvesting is done in collaboration with the Matsés people, following traditional protocols rooted in ceremony, reverence, and respect for the living forest.

How Kambo Works: Clearing Density & Restoring Pure Life Force Energy

Kambo activates the lymphatic system, the body’s primary drainage and immune network and a key carrier of vital life force throughout the tissues. This system moves waste, excess fluid, and immune signals back toward the heart, supporting circulation, energy, and regulation. When lymph flows freely, the body feels lighter, clearer, and more alive. Because the lymphatic system has no pump of its own, it relies on movement, breath, and internal pressure to stay moving. Kambo creates a brief, intensified activation of this process, helping mobilize stagnation and restore natural flow.

What to Expect in a Kambo Ceremony

Our ceremonies are held with care, clarity, and respect for the tradition.

Intention Setting
You begin by grounding and setting a personal intention for what you are ready to release or realign.

Preparation (Gates)
Tiny points are opened on the surface of the skin using a small stick. These are called gates and allow the medicine to enter.

Application
Kambo is applied to the gates, where its peptides enter the lymphatic system and bloodstream.

Active Phase
Effects are typically felt within minutes and may include warmth, flushing, pressure, and purging (vomiting or bowel movements). This phase is temporary and closely supported.

Rest & Integration
After the intensity passes, the body settles into a deep state of calm. Many people report clarity, stillness, and emotional relief.

After the Ceremony

The days following Kambo often feel clean, quiet, and regulated. People commonly notice:

  • Clearer thinking
  • Improved sleep
  • Emotional steadiness
  • A sense of being “back in their body”
  • Reduced cravings and reactivity

This period is considered an important time for rest, hydration, and integration.
