What to expect from your retreat experience
What to expect from your retreat experience
The soul of this retreat is held within two La Luz ceremonies, guided by leading ceremony Shipibo Shaman and Michael as supporting, who serves as an intuitive conduit for the medicine and the ceremonial space.
The medicine is a Yagé brew, creating a balanced, full-spectrum preparation. This blend is traditionally known for supporting extra depth, clarity, and a sense of connection within the ceremonial journey.
The brew is prepared in the Peruvian Amazon, using plants gathered fresh from the land. It is crafted with prayer, fasting, and intention with a shamans hands, honoring the lineage and spirit of the medicine. This care is carried into the ceremony itself, creating a container where participants may gently release emotional weight, reflect on formative life experiences, and reconnect with deeper aspects of themselves.
Each ceremony is approached with humility and respect, allowing insight, healing, and clarity to arise naturally, in whatever way is right for each individual.

Who is your guide?
Who is your guide?
Maestro Shinan Shama (Breath of Consciousness) is a Shipibo-Konibo curandero from the Ucayali region of the Peruvian Amazon, an area long recognized as a living stronghold of the Shipibo healing lineage.
The Ucayali Shipibo tradition is known for its energetic precision and the profound use of icaros — sacred songs that function not only as prayer, but as spiritual architecture. Within this lineage, illness is understood as energetic distortion, and the icaros are woven as vibrational patterns that cleanse, tune, and realign the spiritual body.
Training in this tradition is shaped through disciplined plant dietas, extended periods of solitude in the forest, and years of apprenticeship under elder maestros. The work is clean, structured, and deeply diagnostic in its approach — emphasizing purification, alignment, and integration rather than spectacle or instant transformation.
Shinan Shama was raised within this current and carries forward the quiet strength of his lineage with humility and clarity. His guidance reflects the hallmarks of the Ucayali path: precision in energetic work, reverence for the plants, and a strong emphasis on responsibility and integration after ceremony.
Michael, also known as Jakon Nete in the Shipibo tradition, is a long-time herbalist, dietero, and ceremonial space holder with over 17 years of lived relationship with plant intelligence.
His way of working is subtle and attentive. He listens closely to the energy of the room, moving gently where softness is needed and offering steady strength when grounding or recalibration is required. Rather than directing an experience, Michael focuses on holding a clean, supportive field where participants can release what no longer serves them, surrender into the process, and realign with their own inner rhythm.
His work is shaped not only by years of study and dieta, but by humility, patience, and respect for the plants and the people who come to sit with them. Each ceremony is approached as a shared moment of responsibility, care, and presence.

A Safe and Sacred Space for Your Healing
A Safe and Sacred Space for Your Healing
The retreat is held within a 40-year-old fruit orchard in the Tampa Bay area, surrounded by mature mango and banana trees that create a quiet, nourishing atmosphere.
The land rests beside a natural aquifer-fed lake, sustained by fresh water drawn from a 400-foot well. This setting offers a sense of purity, stillness, and connection to the elements, providing a calm, grounded environment that supports rest, reflection, and presence throughout the gathering.

Testimonials

I struggled with kratom addiction and felt like I couldn’t break free from it. Before ceremony, Michael worked with me using herbal support to gently taper my body down so I wasn’t in shock or distress. By the time I sat with ayahuasca, I was already almost completely off kratom, which made it possible for me to fully be present for the experience.

I struggled with food addiction and smoking, and I was dealing with a bleeding ulcer and severe acid reflux. My body was not in a good place. Michael created a personalized herbal protocol that helped repair and strengthen my system. Step by step, my digestion improved, my inflammation calmed down, and I was able to properly cleanse and stabilize before sitting with ayahuasca and kambo. By the time I entered ceremony, my body felt prepared and supported.

I was severely beaten by my ex-husband, and the trauma lived in my body. The constant stress and fear showed up in my gut. My stomach was distended from carrying that tension for so long. Before sitting with the medicine, Michael supported me with specific herbal tinctures to help stabilize my nervous system and prepare my body.
During ceremony, he worked with master plants focused on my solar plexus and heart. That’s where I had been holding the pain. In that space, I was able to release the hurt and the fear I had carried for so long. Afterward, I felt clear and steady enough to move forward with the divorce and not return to that relationship..
